FAYETTEVILLE | Bolinger Home Tour

Sunday, September 14, 2014

Ah, it feels good to be back! We moved into our new house about two and a half weeks but we haven't had our uverse/wifi set up until Friday, so I haven't been able to do some before and after photos of the house! So, Justin and I are 22, and we're homeowners, that's super surreal to me, but nonetheless exciting! I have loved getting to decorate and design everything in the house and making it our home. It felt just like I always dreamed it would be, ya know, cooking Sunday breakfast while looking out the kitchen window at Justin mowing the grass. We can't wait to have our housewarming party and show it off to our family and friends.

It was built in 1969 and it only has one bathroom, but it's ours and it's perfect. It's going to become 960 square feet of beautiful memories where we take McKinlee's "first day of Kindergarten" picture, where we bring our second baby home to and where we teach our children that hard work does pay off, even when you start in the most difficult of situations.

Enough of the mushy gushy, here's our home:

Everything was painted a darker green, we brightened it up with an icy blue/antique white two-tone, and the whole space just seems so much bigger! I love the cut out too! This picture from Unfading Beauty Scripture Prints was the inspiration for my Kitchen color scheme!

McKinlee's Room

Her room at the apartment, I was so excited to be able to paint, that I went crazy and painted the whole thing a bright flamingo pink. I loved it at the time but knew this time I wanted something that would last her a while without being 'childish'. So I decided just one wall with stripes, and I'm swoon.

I'm so intrigued with gallery walls, mainly because I love pictures. However, with her room, I loved the idea of a "shabby chic" theme, so we went thrifting and antique shopping for some cute finds and mixed them with some modern pieces to create my favorite wall in the house!

Another favorite: my handmade shabby-fabric-scrap bunting.
and of course, a fancy chandelier.
She loves her new room, too!

Living Room

I love natural light and I love curtains even more so I was super excited to have so many windows in the living room!

Nothing like family pictures to make our house feel like a HOME.
This is when we toured the house for the first time.

This is our first weekend, we also called the Hogs! I look forward to many more front porch pictures!
