CARTER PAUL | Seven Months

Friday, April 22, 2016

S E V E N! We're officially in the 1st birthday planning time frame! I love his personality, he's the sweetest, chunkiest cuddle bug I've ever met, and I love it so much!

Weight: 22ish lbs
Height: 27.25inches

Food | Not much has changed from a month ago, he still nurses 5-6 times a day and then his normal 3 five oz bottles at school. I diced up a banana and froze it and let him eat those and he loved that, but it was messy once they started to thaw. He has some baked potato and seemed to like that. We will slowly introduce table food, as in, if we're eating something he can have, we'll let him try it.

Sleep | He is sleeping so well, we've started putting him to sleep with McKinlee's rainforest lullaby's and it's so soothing for him that he'll fall asleep within the first 10 minutes. We we're having a difficult time getting him to sleep through the night because he felt like he needed to nurse to fall back asleep, so the pediatrician recommended that we try putting him to bed while he's still awake and let him put himself fall asleep. It's really helped, he probably sleeps 4 out of 7 nights of the week completely through. We put him down between 7:30 and 8:30 and the nights he does wake up, it's usually about 3:30am, and I'll nurse him back to sleep and put him back in his bed.

Size | He is wearing size 12-18 months rompers usually, 6-12 months pants, and typically 2T shirts. Size 3 diapers.

Firsts | No new major firsts this month

the FUN stuff | we're SO CLOSE to crawling! It's seriously so fun to watch we'll see him get up on his knees and we'll all stop what we're doing to see if this will be the time he learns what to do with his hands, ha! He has pulled up on the couch once to a standing position and just stood there and was so giddy! He's the sweetest baby! He loves his sister, so much! Everyone says he has a "poker face" since he's so serious all the time, but he's slowly starting to flash a smile towards others! We are teething, so there's that. Lots of slobber and lots of tears, but we'll get through it!

CARTER PAUL | Six Months

Monday, April 18, 2016

1/2 a year! I can't believe it - even though this is a month and a half behind, it's still crazy to me that our sweet boy is already to the halfway mark! It's been the best six months as a family of four and we're so thankful for him each day!

Weight: 20.8lbs
Height: 28inches

Food | He is a boy! So the way to his heart is of course through his big ol' belly. He is still nursing 5-6 times a day, plus his 3 bottles of breastmilk he gets during the day at school. He eats a fruit around 7am once he arrives at daycare, almost as his breakfast. He has a vegetable around 11am for lunch, while also snacking on puffs in between, here and there.

Sleep | We're finally sleeping through the night, probably 50% of the week! So that makes the work week go by a little easier for the rest of us! Still will wake up some nights around 3-4am, but for the most part will sleep 8:30pm-6:00am.

Size | CPB is wearing mostly 12-18mo clothes, some 2T shirts, I like them loose. He's not actually THAT big ;) but he looks comfy in them. Pajamas he wears 6-12 months and those fit snug. Diapers size 3, we moved on up and noticed less blowouts. Everyone was winning there.

Firsts | First Word "bubba" or "bye bye" we're not sure which it is, but it's the cutest thing e v e r. {March 17, 2016}
First Razorback Baseball game

the FUN stuff | My favorite thing right now is our one-on-one time when we get home from work, and he will nurse and just look up at me with this little grin out of the sides of his mouth and I just know he missed me and that even though I don't get to spend more time with him throughout the day, that I'm still his most favorite person. He is becoming very verbal with his cooing and his sister is the only one that can make him laugh, and I actually love that. When we want a picture of him smiling we'll always call her in for the giggles. I love watching them grow up together.
